Strengths:
Allen has had a great college career, but he may not translate well into the NFL. He plays well along the defensive line but lacks a defined role. He is all effort with a huge heart, great hands and feet placement you can set your watch too. He can drive opponents back at will and finds the crease between players to attack the QB at times.
He works best when he changes up his position in the line and gets some variety to his game.
Weaknesses:
There are a few. He has poor flexibility and bend, making it hard to get around the arc and attack players. Struggles to defend the run on the inside and have limitations in certain roles. He is too tight and upright to be a solid pass rusher.
Giphy:
Allen, shredding blockers before getting to his man.
Pro Comparison:
Dean Lowry
Overall Review:
Allen needs to find his niche. He is too all over the place to be a force in the NFL. There is a place for him as a 4-3 defensive end, but he needs to be in a rotation policy.
Look for him in the 2nd or 3rd round.
