New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson And His Brothers’ Unstoppable Rise To The NFL

TreVeyon Henderson stayed focused on football to stay away from the violence in his neighborhood.

TreVeyon Henderson grew up in an athletic household alongside his two brothers, Ronnie Walker and Kesean Henderson.

The New England Patriots selected him in the 2025 NFL draft, and he plays the running back position.

Highlights

  • TreVeyon Henderson and his brothers trained relentlessly in their backyard to escape their rough neighborhood, using football as motivation.
  • Ronnie Walker Jr. started the family’s football legacy and led Hopewell High School to a 2017 state championship.
  • Kesean Henderson is a rising star in college recruiting, drawing major offers from LSU, Florida State, Oklahoma, and more after initially committing to Houston.

TreVeyon played football at Hopewell High School, where he was named the 2019–2020 Virginia Gatorade Football Player of the Year.

As a result of COVID-19, he didn’t play his senior season due to Virginia moving its fall sports season to the spring.

Despite offers from Texas, Michigan, and Georgia, he committed to play college football at Ohio State and enrolled in January 2021.

TreVeyon earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week for his remarkable performance.

He broke Ohio State’s freshman record for touchdowns from scrimmage with 19 during Week 13 against the Michigan Wolverines.

The New England Patriots drafted him in the second round as the 38th overall pick in the 2025 draft. His contract value is $11,143,260.

TreVeyon Henderson’s Mother Solely Raised Her 3 Kids

TreVeyon Henderson, the son of Trenton Henderson and Lakeesha Hayes, was born on October 22, 2002, in Hopewell, Virginia.

He grew up with his two brothers, Ronnie Walker Jr. and Kesean Henderson, sharing a close bond.

Lakeesha earned her degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and worked as a dedicated counselor to give her sons a better future.

She raised three children on her own after splitting from Trenton. They lived in a small house in Hopewell, Virginia, a town plagued by gang violence and crime.

Lakeesha worked two jobs, determined to keep her sons away from the dangers of their neighborhood while ensuring her boys stayed focused on sports.

Instead of falling into the traps that surrounded them, the three brothers spent hours honing their skills in their backyard, turning their struggles into motivation.

I know without my mother, my family, and my brothers, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in. I’m glad we always stuck together. We were always close. No matter what we went through, we went through it together. I mean, she was raising three of us at one time, and we’re all boys. So you can just imagine what that’s like. She’s the type that’ll go broke just to get us what we want.

Ronnie Walker Jr. Started The Henderson’s Legacy

Before TreVeyon Henderson became a household name in college football, his older brother, Ronnie Walker Jr., was already carving out his path on the gridiron.

His football career took off at Hopewell High School in Virginia, where he led his team to a 2017 state championship.

Ronnie earned Region 3A East and Conference 26 Player of the Year honors in his junior year.

His collegiate career began at Indiana in 2018, but he transferred to Virginia in 2020, seeking a bigger role. He studied engineering at Virginia.

Later, he finished his college career at Utah Tech in 2023.

Our backyard was our safe haven from all the problems that were going on in the city. We would go in the backyard every day, doing drills and things like that. I’d be recording and critiquing.

Kesean Henderson Is Taking College Recruiting By Storm

Kesean Henderson, the youngest brother, has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most versatile and dynamic high school football players in the nation.

He demonstrated a strong understanding of the game, excelling at multiple positions, including wide receiver, quarterback, running back, and linebacker.

Kesean was a freshman running back/linebacker in the class of 2024 who played on Hopewell’s junior varsity team as an eighth-grader.

He earned MVP honors for his remarkable performance during the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl.

Colleges across the country have taken notice, with powerhouse programs such as Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, Ole Miss, and North Carolina extending offers to top recruits.

Initially, Kesean committed to the Houston Cougars on May 27, 2024, but his recruitment remains highly competitive as more schools vie for his commitment.

Kesean has also showcased his skills at elite camps, including the Texas A&M Aggies camp on June 09, 2023, and June 15, 2022.

He is poised to continue the family legacy at the collegiate level and beyond, thanks to his combination of athleticism, football IQ, and versatility.

They’re the ones that actually got me into working hard when I was a kid. I was always in the house trying to be a kid. They got me out of the house, going in the field, working out, going to the gym, showing me how important it is to have that in my career.
