CFB News – Monday 16th November

Its that time again, lets check out some news from around College Football.

LSU

QB Miles Brennan is out for the season with a hip injury. Do not think it really matters for the Tigers in their non-run to the playoffs

Penn State

RB Journey Brown is retiring from the game with a heart condition. We wish him all the bets in the future

South Carolina

The Gamecocks have parted ways with Will Muschamp.  OC Mike Bobo will take over as HC for the rest of the season. The move comes after their third straight loss of the season and now a 2-5 start to the 2020 campaign. The mutual separation cost them $13m

Michigan and Jim Harbaugh

Michigan went down to Wisconsin over the weekend 49-11. The 38 point loss is the largest home loss since 1935. Jim Harbaugh has said he will revamp everything they are doing this offseason after they started 1-3. I’m not sure that will be enough. We here at SportsTalkLine think he will be sacked before the year is out

Utah State

Just over a week after firing HC Gary Anderson, Utah State have dismissed starting QB Jason Shelley for undisclosed violation of team rules. Shelley transferred from Utah this off-season and started all four games for the Aggies. It is unknown what the extent of the issues are, but he will be looking for a new team in 2021

Heisman

The Heisman trophy presentation will be a little different this season. All finalists named on Dec 24th and the winner will be announced on Jan 5th with a virtual trophy ceremony to take place on ESPN. Chris Fowler will host the show with Tom Rinaldi and Maria Taylor will join in from Bristol. Expect a lot of former Heisman winners to grace your screen for the hour long telecast

Gameday at Augusta

Two of our great loves, College Football and Golf came together over the weekend with College Gameday coming to you live from Augusta Georgia. With the crew set up on one for the greatest golf courses around, cutting to the delayed action from the 2nd round and mixing in some college football news and scores, we were in heaven. We need to see more of this.
