If a non-SEC doesn’t win the National Title this year, it might not happen this decade.
As we enter the 2020 season, everyone from Alabama to North Carolina to Bowling Green is full of hope and optimism. But let's be real for a second, of the 130 FBS teams, only seven or so have a chance.
Clemson and Ohio State are on the cusp of a National Title season, the problem is, when “Sunshine” Lawrence and Justin Fields move on to the NFL in the 2021 draft, both of their teams start again. Does anyone remember Clemson before Sunshine or Deshaun Watson? No, me either.
Then, on the other hand, we have the ever-present SEC.
No one is doubting the SEC is the strongest division in all College Football. This season the two powerhouses, LSU and Alabama are trending downward and could slip up, that doesn’t mean one of them won’t make the final four.
Now is the time for the Non-SEC teams to shine.
Georgis is amid a resurgence and has recruited incredibly well. This means they will challenge for the title for the next three seasons at least.
The Gators are on the improve and could push for an SEC title in the years to come.
Alabama is too good a team to stay down for too long as is the LSU Tigers.
