Carl Kremer stands as one of Ohio’s most accomplished basketball coaches.
He graduated from Miami East High School in Troy, Ohio in 1978.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in history in 1982 and his master’s degree in counseling in 1984, both from Eastern Kentucky University.
He later completed his administrative coursework at the University of Cincinnati.
Kremer joined the Moeller High School staff in 1984. His early career included teaching history, government, and English for eight years.
His administrative journey progressed from assistant principal and dean of students to interim principal in 2017.
He was named permanent principal in February 2018 and now serves as president of Moeller.
His basketball coaching career spans over four decades. In February 2023, Kremer achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming just the seventh boys coach in Ohio history to win 700 games when the Crusaders defeated Covington Catholic 62-49.
His teams have dominated the Greater Catholic League, winning championships in 22 out of 26 years.
Under his leadership, the Crusaders have claimed seven City championships, 14 District championships, and eight Regional championships.
They’ve reached the State Final Four once, finished as State runner-up twice, and captured five Division I State Championships (1999, 2003, 2007, 2018, and 2019).
Kremer’s excellence has earned him induction into multiple halls of fame, including the Ohio High School Basketball Association Hall of Fame, Moeller Hall of Fame, Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame, and Hamilton County Basketball Hall of Fame.

Johanna C. Kremer has built an equally impressive career as a communications specialist, graphic designer, and artist.
Her professional journey spans multiple sectors, including education, higher education, and entrepreneurship.
Johanna’s educational foundation began at West Carrollton High School, where she graduated in 1977.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1983.
She continued her academic pursuits by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati in 1998.
Later in life, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning, Johanna returned to college in 2018 to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Communications at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, reaching junior status by 2021.
In 1983, she began her career in the juvenile justice system as an Education Coordinator and Probation Officer at Hocking County Juvenile Court.
There, she developed programs for at-risk youth, including a high school version of “Scared Straight” and a summer arts enrichment program.
She also served as the Chemical People County Coordinator and the Citizens’ Drug & Alcohol Association Director.
Johanna transitioned to education in 1984, teaching English at Tri-County Joint Vocational School in Nelsonville, Ohio.
She expanded her role beyond teaching as a student council advisor and levy campaign coordinator.
From 1985 to 1988, she taught English and Advanced Composition at Deer Park High School while also serving as yearbook and newspaper advisor.
Her talents in communications became more central to her career when she was appointed Communications Coordinator for Deer Park Community Schools in 1988.
She developed comprehensive communication strategies, including internal communications, district newsletters, annual reports, and media relations programs.
Johanna moved to higher education in 1989, joining the University of Cincinnati’s McMicken College of Arts & Sciences.
She helped establish the college’s Office of Publications & Promotions, where she designed and edited various publications while assisting with special events.
Her longest professional tenure began in 1996 at Archbishop Moeller High School, where she served as Director of Marketing and Communications for 18 years.
Her accomplishments include initiating the school’s first alumni magazine, laying the foundation for Moeller’s journalism program, developing the school’s initial branding program, and launching its first electronic communications.
She played key roles in the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations and created the Top-10 Scholars Recognition Program.
In 2014, Johanna joined Nautilus Design & Communications as a Graphic Designer & Communications Specialist, further honing her design expertise.
In December 2019, she founded her own business, A Million Dreams, LLC, where she provides graphic design services and creates original art in various media, including mosaics, stained glass, ceramics, sculpture, and painting.
Her talent earned her both the Teacher’s Award scholarship from Archbishop Moeller High School and the Thomas Satterwhite Entrance Scholarship from the Art Academy of Cincinnati when she returned to studies in 2018.
Since December 2021, Johanna has also served as President of the Art League of Loveland, further establishing her leadership in the arts community of Ohio.
Carl and Johanna Kremer reside in Maineville, Ohio. They have raised two children: Joe (Moeller ’12, Dayton ’17) and Jackie (MND ’12, Dayton ’16).
