Family And Friends Mourn The Loss Of Haley Jarosiewicz
On the 23rd of January afternoon, Midland Public Schools Superintendent Penny Miller-Nelson and Midland High School Principal Tiela Schurman emailed Furth MPS families about the 11th-grade student Haley Jarosiewicz.
Haley had attended Chestnut Hill Elementary and Northeast Middle School before coming to Midland High.
She was involved in many activities, including Cross Country, Track and Field, Chemic Conditioning, and Student Council.
Similarly, Mary Boyle, who lives near the accident scene, shared that the news has weighed heavily on her heart.
She noticed the snowplow had stopped, with cars driving around it while she was waiting at the bus stop with her child.
She then heard sirens, and on her way to work, she passed the accident site.
That’s when she realized the snowplow wasn’t involved.
She prayed to everyone affected and praised the county snowplow driver for using his truck to help secure the area until first responders arrived.
At the same time, Lacey Scharich mentioned that she was driving right behind the crash and saw the truck pass her, going much faster than it should have.
Haley was going 35 mph, but the truck was speeding over 50 mph. After passing her, the truck collided with the other vehicle. Lacey believes the driver was going too fast, possibly contributing to losing control.
Moreover, the parents of Midland High School students who knew Haley expressed their heartfelt condolences to her and her parents, Robert Jarosiewicz and Julie Jarosiewicz.
They couldn’t imagine Robert’s pain, especially since he was so proud of being the father of two daughters.
He often showed off pictures of Haley and her sister, proudly displaying the medals they won at sports events.
