LSU Pole Vaulter Dillon Reidenauer Passed Away At 18, Leaving Behind Her Parents, Aundrea And Brad Reidenauer

Dillon was a responsible student who played sports and kept up with her grades.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Dillon Reidenauer was a standout pole vaulter who lost her life in a traffic incident at Louisiana State University on Wednesday, February 27, 2025.

At just 18, she tragically passed away, leaving her parents, Aundrea and Brad Reidenauer, deeply saddened.

Dillon graduated from Fontainebleau High School and became one of the best pole vaulters in Louisiana. Later, she committed to LSU and planned to pursue a degree in interior design.

She finished second outdoors at the LHSAA State Championships with a clearance of 3.64 meters (11′ 11.25″) and earned bronze indoors with a clearance of 3.71 meters (12′ 2″).

She held a personal best clearance of 3.81 meters (12′ 6″) in the pole vault during high school. As a junior, she placed fourth at the state meet.

Her tragic demise left the LSU community heartbroken. Many remembered the freshman on LSU’s track and field team in their heartfelt tributes.

LSU Athletics is heartbroken to share the tragic news of the passing of freshman track and field student-athlete Dillon Reidenauer in a traffic incident Wednesday evening in Baton Rouge. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dillon’s family, friends, and teammates, as well as with those impacted by the loss of another individual who died as a result of the incident. We are providing resources and support to all of our student-athletes and staff directly impacted by this tragic loss.

Dillon Reidenauer’s Family Mourns The Tragic Loss

Dillon Reidenauer, the daughter of Aundrea and Brad Reidenauer, was born on May 30, 2006, in Slidell, Louisiana. Her parents raised her alongside her sister.

She left this world far too soon, leaving a legacy of determination, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Dillon was driving a Honda Accord when she faced a fatal road collision with a motorcycle at the intersection of Nicholson Drive and South Quad Drive at Louisiana State University.

Bohdi Linton, a 23-year-old who was driving a motorcycle, also passed away in the crash. His mother, Juanita Linton, was killed in a motorcycle crash last year on I-10 East.

Furthermore, the 18-year-old balanced academics and athletics as an LSU Track and field team member. She was an extremely responsible student who played sports, kept up with her grades, and performed well in school.

The LSU Track & Field family ensured that other student-athletes and staff had the resources to process this terrible loss’s grief. Her tragic demise devasted the whole community.

Dillon grew up surrounded by the support and encouragement of her parents, who nurtured her passions and celebrated her achievements.

She displayed an extraordinary talent for athletics, particularly in pole vaulting, where she excelled with grace and strength. Likewise, she inspired her teammates and coaches with her work ethic and positive attitude.

Her time at LSU was marked by her athletic accomplishments and the meaningful connections she forged with her peers and mentors.

Her memory will live, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of athletes who strive to live with the same passion and kindness she embodied.

A celebration of Dillon’s life will be held to honor her remarkable journey and her impact on so many.

Her family might raise some donations instead of flowers to fund a scholarship in her name, supporting young athletes pursuing their dreams in pole vaulting and track and field.
