Las Vegas Raiders Fire Antonio Pierce Amid Bankruptcy Filing By Wife Jocelyn Over $28M Debt

Only in October, Jocelyn shared a photo of herself kissing her husband, Antonio, while wishing him a happy birthday.

Amidst the news of Antonio Pierce’s firing following the Raiders’ back-to-back losses, his wife, Jocelyn, is standing firm, supporting their seven children through this challenging time.

The Las Vegas Raiders are hitting the reset button once again. On 7 December, the team fired Antonio Pierce after a brutal 4-13 season, his first full year as head coach.

Highlights

  • Antonio and Jocelyn first crossed paths in August 2006 and married in 2008.
  • Jocelyn is actively involved in real estate, starting with Christie’s International Real Estate and Strand Hill Properties.
  • In June 2024, Jocelyn Pierce filed for bankruptcy due to Antonio’s past involvement in car dealerships.

Pierce took over as interim coach in 2023 and finished with a 5-4 record before being promoted to full-time.

This decision marks the sixth time since Mark Davis took over ownership of the team in 2011 that the Raiders have had to find a new head coach.

In a statement announcing the firing, the Raiders thanked Pierce for his leadership.

Despite the team’s struggles on the field, they wished Pierce and his family the best as they move forward.

We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as an interim head coach and this past season as the head coach.
Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the entire organization. We wish nothing but the best for Antonio and his family in the future.

After a nine-season career in the NFL, including a Pro Bowl appearance, Pierce joined the Raiders in 2022 as the linebackers coach on Josh McDaniels’ staff.

Antonio And Jocelyn Tied The Knot After Two Years Of Dating In 2008

During the ESPN Fantasy Football Draft, Antonio and Jocelyn first crossed paths in August 2006.

At the time, Jocelyn was working as a model at the event while Antonio was still playing for the New York Giants.

In February 2007, Antonio went on his knees for Jocelyn at the Brooklyn River Cafe.

Antonio had the restaurant manager hide the engagement ring inside the cake, decorated with rose petals.

Then, the couple tied the knot later at the exclusive Hoku Lani estate in 2008 and share seven kids-De’Andre Pierce, Anthony Pierce, Jayla Pierce, Ava Pierce, Antonio Pierce Jr., Carmelo Pierce, and Mary Pierce.

Jocelyn is a licensed real estate agent, but her career has spanned beyond that.

Alongside her husband, Antonio, she has also worked in sports as a reporter and host.

While Antonio retired from the NFL in 2010, Jocelyn continued her career in the sports world as an official host for the league.

In 2014, she shifted into real estate, starting with Christie’s International Real Estate and Strand Hill Properties.

Over time, Jocelyn decided to start her brokerage and showed her entrepreneurial drive and determination to establish herself in the real estate industry.

Despite Jocelyn’s real estate career and other projects, the Pierce family faces financial struggles due to Antonio’s past business dealings.

Back in June 2024, Jocelyn Pierce, the wife of Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, filed for bankruptcy.

The filing, which took place in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona, was tied to financial troubles related to Antonio’s past involvement in car dealerships.

Court records show that two major lenders, Nissan and Hyundai Capital, tried to seize Antonio Pierce’s wages from his salary with the Raiders and collect money from the couple’s assets to pay off debts.

The bankruptcy filing explained that in the 2010s, Antonio was convinced to invest in car dealerships.

Although he wasn’t actively running the businesses, he signed paperwork.

Unfortunately, personal guarantees were attached to his name. When the dealerships couldn’t repay their loans, the lenders went after Antonio personally, which led to judgments totaling more than $28 million.

Additional Information

  • Antonio Pierce played high school football at Paramount High School in California.
  • He earned All-CIF Southern Section Division 2 honors as a linebacker and played fullback as a senior.
  • In 1997, as a sophomore at Mt. SAC, Pierce helped lead the team to the CCCAA state championship.
