Ja’Marr Chase’s African-American Parents, Toleah And Jimmy Chase, Have Been Frequent Attendees At His Games

Jimmy and Toleah Chase expressed their pride in their son after his NFL draft pick.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ starting wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, has garnered the attention of people of his ethnic background through his fantastic gameplay.

Ja’Marr Chase recently celebrated a touchdown in the end zone against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Highlights

  • There is a chance of Ja’Marr Chase getting fined following his celebration of a touchdown in the end zone.
  • His ancestors had a deep-rooted history with Africa. Ja’Marr and his family hold African-American ethnicity.
  • Ja’Marr was born to his father, Jimmy Chase, and his mother, Toleah Chase.

Cincinnati Bengals cut the Los Angeles Chargers’ lead to 27-13 on Sunday night with an 11-play, 70-yard drive that ended in a Ja’Marr Chase touchdown.

The score, a four-yard dart from Joe Burrow on fourth-and-goal, was rather anti-climatic given LA’s lead, but that didn’t stop Chase from celebrating with what many would consider inappropriate.

There is a high chance that 24 year-old Chase will receive a fine from the league for that one.

Heading towards Sunday night, Chase led the NFL in both yards (981) and touchdowns (10) and has helped Joe Burrow become the NFL’s leader in passing yards.

The Bengals, however, haven’t had much team success to match it. They entered Sunday night with a 4-6 record and losers of two of their last three matches.

Wide Receiver Ja’marr Chase’s Family Originated From Africa

Although Ja’Marr and his family live in Harvey, Louisiana, United States, their ancestors were originally from Africa.

Chase’s family celebrated American and African cultures. Therefore, Ja’Marr, along with his family, is of African-American ethnicity.

He was born to his mother, Toleah Chase, and his father, Jimmy Chase.

They have supported his football dream since he was young and have been frequent attendees at his games since he was a standout football player at Archbishop Rummel High School in the suburbs of New Orleans.

His parents were proud when Chase presented him with the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2019 at the Atlanta ESPN College Football Awards show.

Jimmy and Toleah noted their son’s selflessness, citing the time he came out of a game against Vanderbilt after scoring four touchdowns to give his teammate Racey the chance to find the end zone.

When the Bengals player received his first paycheck, he gifted his mother a luxurious $65,000 Maserati. Chese even paid off her home loans.

His father told him his mother was struggling with her current car (an Audi), which had issues with the airflow inside.

So, Chase crossed off the most critical item on his lengthy to-do list: getting his mother a good car.

Talking about her son, Toleah said,

“He is setting all of his goals and reaching them. Just to be a finalist, even if he doesn’t win, that’s still good. That means he’s awesome.”

On the other hand, Ja’Marr’s father, Jimmy Chase, is a D*ug Court Clinician and Case Manager at the Criminal District Court in Orleans Parish.

Talking about his son, Jimmy said,

“To have your child or your son set some goals for himself and actually reach some of those goals, doing what he loves to do; it’s a beautiful thing, a life-changing thing.”

Moreover, Jimmy and Toleah Chase expressed their pride in their son after his NFL draft pick. Jimmy said,

“You took all the information I gave you and used it in the right way. I couldn’t be any prouder of you, son.”

Jimmy believes that Ja’Marr has got everything he was trying to give him. And these words were enough to make the wide receiver cry.

His family also includes a sister whose name has not been made public. Ja’Marr stole his sister’s care when he was around 11 years old.

When asked what he did with it and why, Chase explained:

Driving around the neighborhood and stuff. I had gas on my chest, as they would say.
