In  Milwaukee, Varsity Upperclassmen Bully My Daughter Over a Three-Time Cheater, Freezing Her Out and Wasting Over $200 in Bake-Sale and Raffle Supplies

Unideal scenes!

Janet Renee Marfitt says her daughter is being deliberately excluded by varsity upperclassmen after a dispute involving a teammate she described in a social post as a “three-time cheater.”

Marfitt wrote that a group of players “banned together” and have refused to pass her daughter the ball during games and practices, leaving the player considering a move to JV or quitting the team entirely.

“I’m disappointed in bullying,” Marfitt wrote in the post. “Upperclassmen on varsity are bullying my kid over a boy that one cheated on 3 times and now talks to my kid.”

She also added, “they have banned together and refuse to pass her the ball. Other parents have pointed it out to the coach and now the $200+ supplies purchased for the bake sale and miscellaneous items acquired to make a basket for the raffle are in vain cause she wants to step down to JV or quit.

“But just know I’m still making baked goods and her and her bestie are about to be hustlers,” concluded Marfitt.

The Community Came in Support

Community members responded quickly on the public thread, with several parents and friends offering support and blunt condemnations of the behavior.

A’Zairia Thompson posted: “Also, I still look like I’m 12….. if I need to knock ANYBODY’s teeth out. Y’all be sure to lmk I hate a bully. Ew.” Marfitt replied to Thompson: “I’m screaming.”

Christina Edwards weighed in: “They jealous!! Miracle goes through that alot.” Marfitt answered: “being a sports mom isn’t for the week.”

Starr Kieckbusch wrote simply: “That’s crap.” Marfitt replied to Starr: “yep and I told her she’s not going to JV or quitting.”

Yvonne Toliver encouraged the player: “Janet Renee Marfitt yep show them them on the court you are here for a reason they are just back ground noise.”

Brian Scott added support for Marfitt’s plan: “Glad her and her besties are going to be hustlers.”

Marfitt said other parents alerted the coach after noticing the exclusion, but she did not specify whether the coach or school administration had taken disciplinary or corrective steps.

The situation has already affected fundraising efforts: Marfitt estimates more than $200 in bake-sale and raffle supplies could go to waste if her daughter follows through with stepping down.

The post highlights concerns about team dynamics and accountability in youth sports programs.

Marfitt says she intends to proceed with the fundraiser regardless and to support her daughter’s continued participation, a stance echoed by commenters and neighbors calling for coaches to address exclusion and bullying before it sidelines another student.
