Recently, a parent, Jamayka Jay from Coffeyville, Kansas, shared a Facebook post about her son’s five-day suspension from school for a joke he made on TikTok.
In a Facebook post, she explained that she never contacted any news outlets and does not know how the media picked up the story.
Her phone has since been flooded with messages about an article she did not authorize or participate in.

According to Jay, her son posted a photo that included another student who appeared shirtless, which she said is normal for a locker room setting.
She stated that the student in the picture was smiling and posed willingly.
Jay made it clear that she disapproved of her son posting it, calling it a joke that was not funny.
She emphasized that the post was made at home, not at school, and that it was not made using school property.
Therefore, she believes the school should not have the authority to suspend him for an off-campus action.
Jay also said that even the police acknowledged her son did not intend to hurt or bully anyone.
She added that the other student, labeled as the victim in the situation, later apologized to her son and said he did not expect the punishment to be so severe.
In her post, Jay argued that the school has a pattern of unfair treatment and inconsistent discipline, claiming that the other student has been involved in bullying incidents with minimal consequences.
She also accused the school principal of mishandling the situation and even violating privacy laws by discussing her son with others.
Several parents and friends commented in support of Jay, saying that they have also experienced problems with the school and that she is right to stand up for her child.
