The 2021 season proved historic, with the team recording 33 wins—the program’s best performance since 1991.
The success continued in 2022 when the Chargers clinched their first regular season conference championship in over three decades.
The 2023 season highlighted Gross’s coaching skills as he led the team to 35 victories, the most in his tenure.

Behind Kyle Gross’s successful coaching career stands his supportive wife, Lorri Lundy-Gross, a professional who has carved her own path in the financial sector.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Lorri comes from a close-knit family as the daughter of Larry Lundy, a former letter carrier at the U.S. Post Office Department, and Donna Napolitano Lundy.
Lorri’s professional journey showcases her versatility and leadership capabilities.
She pursued clinical psychology at The Ohio State University from 1994 to 1995, maintaining a strong academic record with a 3.2 GPA.
Her career began with Welcome Wagon International as a National Account Executive in Columbus from 1996 to 1998.
Her professional experience includes an impressive seven-year tenure with Caribou Coffee, where she rose from Shift Supervisor to Store Manager.
As a manager, she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, overseeing 15 supervisors and team members while earning recognition for achieving the highest cash flow in the Columbus district.
Following her success in retail management, Lorri transitioned to the banking sector.
She served as a bank teller at Chase in the Canton, Ohio area and later advanced to the role of Financial Relationship Consultant at Regions Bank in the Daytona Beach, Florida area.
Currently, she contributes her expertise to Hillsdale College, where she and Kyle have made their home.
Together, Kyle and Lorri have raised two children. Their daughter Kylie has followed in her father’s footsteps, serving as an assistant coach with the Kent State softball team, while their son Kodey completes the family unit.
