Heritage High School student-athlete Jonathan Christopher Arehart died at the age of 17, leaving behind his father, Joseph Arehart, and two siblings.
At Heritage High School, he participated in multiple sports, but wrestling was his favorite, and he built strong bonds with his teammates and coaches.
He also took part in cross country, showing his dedication to staying active and continually improving himself.
Community and the Arehart Family Mourn the Tragic Loss of Jonathan Christopher Arehart!
Jonathan Christopher Arehart was born on October 21, 2008. He passed away on November 14, 2025, at the young age of 17.
While the actual cause of death has not been officially confirmed, a few reports allegedly suggest that he died by suicide.
He lived in the Rock Spring and Fort Oglethorpe area of Georgia. His passing has brought a harrowing loss for his family and community.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Arehart, and his siblings Jacob, Hailey, and Emily. and his grandparents, Joe and Cindy Arehart, and Judy Arehart.
He had an aunt named Callie Nicholas and cousins Caleb, Laney, and Marcel, along with many other relatives who loved him.
It’s clear that his loss has brought grief to the family, but his death has also impacted the Georgia community, bringing moments of shared mourning.
Reflecting on the loss and expressing their grief, one person wrote in the tribute hall:
You will always be remembered as brilliant, talented and exceptionally funny. You were a good friend and an even better brother. Words to express the grief we feel will be always difficult to find.
Jonathan’s visitation will be held on November 20, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home in Rossville, Georgia.
His funeral service will take place the next day at Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring.
Even though his life was short, he made a strong impact on those who knew him. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
