Fiji boxer Ubayd Haider sadly passed away after collapsing outside the ring after a TKO defeat to China’s Australia-based fighter Runqi Zhou on October 26, 2024.

The Fijian boxing community is mourning his passing, and Haider will rest on November 12, 2024, at the Raralevu Muslim Cemetery.
Haider’s family invites the public to pay their respects during the viewing at FMF Gymnasium from 3 pm to 5 pm.
His wife, Helen Margaret Singh, shared an emotional Facebook post thanking Haider for all he has done for her and their children in the past five years. She wrote,

Ubayd Haider was born Nathaniel Singh, 25, in 1999 in Suva, Fiji, to his father, Gyan Singh, and his mother, Anita Singh. Gyan and Anita tied the knot on December 2, 1988.
Gyan Singh is a longtime boxing trainer who is battling various health issues. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was a former boxing trainer at Uptownboxing Gym.
Earlier, Nathan Singh, aka Ubayd Haider, and his father, Gyan Singh, appeared together at Laucala Beach State in Nasinu on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Recently, Gyan Singh said his family is hanging on, hoping Nathan will make it out of the coma.
On March 5, 2024, Ubayd Haider took to his official Facebook handle and posted a photo of his father and mother, which was clicked after his boxing match. He captioned,
His mother, Anita Singh, paid tribute to her son Ubayd through her official Facebook handle. She wrote,

Ubayd Haider And His Family Practices Fijian Culture
Ubayd Haider and his family are Indigenous Fijians who are a mixture of Polynesian and Melanesian, resulting from the original migrations to the South Pacific.
Haider and his family belong to the Black race but are not Black Africans. They practice and follow Fijian culture and festivals.
His family includes one elder brother, Sebastian “Sniper” Singh, a renowned Fijian boxer.
He paid tribute to his younger brother Ubayd through his official Facebook handle. He wrote,
