Gillett High School Basketball Player Ben Frank, 25, Dies in Accident, Leaving Community in Grief!

Varsity Football and Basketball player from Gillett High School, Ben Franks, tragically passed away, leaving behind his parents and two siblings in grief.

Ben Frank was a proud member of the Gillett Tigers, representing his school in two major sports: Football and Basketball.

He was known for his physical presence on the field and contributed both offensively and defensively.

Not just a high school player, he was also a talented pool player who often spent time with friends at the pool hall

Gillett Community Mourns the Loss of Young, Multi-Talented Player Ben Frank

Ben Frank, a 24-year-old man from Wisconsin, tragically lost his life in a car crash in the Town of Gillett on Saturday, November 9, 2025.

The accident occurred in Oconto County and has had a profound impact on the local community.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, November 9.

Following the tragic crash, two people were pronounced dead at the scene, including Ben Frank, while a toddler was taken to the hospital.

With the exact cause of the accident not revealed by officials, it is allegedly reported that a drink-and-drive case was involved.

Following Ben’s untimely passing, many have been unable to come to terms with the shocking news and are expressing their grief on social media.

Reflecting his kindness and bright spirit, one Facebook user writes;

No parent should ever have to bury their child. Ben’s kindness, laughter, and bright spirit touched everyone who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will last forever. Please keep his family and closest friends in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable loss. RIP

While his death has indeed brought grief to many, he is now survived by his parent, Chad Frank and Candy, and Jesse Goodreau of Tigerton.

Ben was also the best big brother to his siblings, Kallie Frank, and his stepbrother, Blake Goodreau of Clintonville.

He is also survived by his grandparents, several cousins, and his teammates, who miss him greatly for his kindness.

The Frank family has announced a visitation to honor Ben’s life on Sunday, November 16, at the Gillett High School Gymnasium, from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service begins at 12:30 p.m.
