Late NASCAR broadcaster Bill Weber is survived by his wife of 24 years, Teresa Weber.

The National Motorsports Press Association announced that Bill Weber, a former TNT and NBC NASCAR broadcaster, passed away on December 13, 2024, at 78.

“I won’t lie and say that Bill Weber & I had the coziest relationship,” “But I can 100% say that over five years at RPM2Night we teamed up for some of the best work I’ve ever been a part of, features that he wrote and I produced. I sincerely hope Bill has found peace.”

Bob Weber was born in Middletown, New Jersey on May 8, 1957. He started his broadcasting career with WISH-TV in Indianapolis while attending Butler University.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in radio and television in 1979.

Eight years later, he worked as a media relations consultant with various production companies before taking his first step into NASCAR with TNN’s broadcast, “Inside NASCAR.”

In 1994, ESPN hired him as a pit reporter and contributor on “RPM 2Night,” where he worked until 2000.

In 2001, he became a NASCAR pre-race host for NBC and TNT and, in December 2004, the play-by-play announcer for NASCAR races.

Bill Weber’s Wife Has Managed To Stay Away From Media

NASCAR Broadcaster Bill Weber Was Suspended By TNT In 2009

In 2001, Weber was tapped as pre-race host and pit reporter for NBC and TNT’s coverage of NASCAR.

On July 30, 2006, TNT announced that Bill would continue as the voice of NASCAR on TNT even after contracts with NBC ended after the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season.

Additionally, Weber and commentators Wally Dallenbach Jr. and Benny Parson made cameo appearances as themselves in the 2006 Will Ferrell NASCAR comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

In 2009, while in New Hampshire to cover the NASCAR Sprint Cup race, TNT suspended Weber and was not allowed to call the race or appear on the air.

“As this is a private issue, it’s the policy of the company not to discuss personal matters involving our employees.”

Other reports indicated that Weber had a loud confrontation in his hotel lobby regarding complaints about his hotel room.

On July 1, 2009, TNT and NASCAR announced that Ralph Sheheen would replace Wever for the final two races on TNT’s 2009 schedule.
