The Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo achieved a milestone during the game against the Washington Wizards on Monday, March 3, 2025, when he recorded his 222nd double-double.
Seikaly discussed Adebayo surpassing his record, as the Heat’s captain continues to leave his mark in various areas of the team’s record books.
Rony played with Miami from 1988 to 1994, the organization’s first years, and was the team’s first-ever college draft pick, taken with the ninth overall pick in the 1988 draft.
He was undoubtedly a massive man for the team, as he praised Adebayo for being the “prototypical player that every team needs.” He said,
“I think he’s just like you’re a prototypical player that every team needs that kind of the glue that does all the work,” Seikaly said. “He works hard, doesn’t require a lot of maintenance, and doesn’t really need the ball to be successful in a team game. And those guys are a lot harder to find than it is, you know, guys that require the ball or require attention.”

Former basketball player Ronald Fred Seikaly married Elsa Benitez Yanez in 1999. They were blessed with a daughter named Mila.
Mila attended Miami Country Day School and later went to Georgetown University.
After graduation, she was a part-time assistant manager at IGK Hair from January 2019 to February 2020.
She is an analyst at the Latin American Business Club at Georgetown University.
Sadly, after a divorce, Rony and Elsa’s married life ended in 2005. However, the reason behind their divorce has not been revealed yet.
Then, Elsa had a romantic relationship with Mexican businessman Roberto Slim for several months. In February 2007, Benitez started dating producer Valerio Morabito.

She traveled to Europe, specifically to France and Italy, where she participated in fashion shows and presented collections of top designers.
