Javeion Gills lost his life being K*lled on shooting. According to the Region News Source, on January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:20 AM, Hammond Police were dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of New York Avenue.
It was reported that shots were fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year–old male, Javeion Gills, had sustained a fatal gunshot injury.
Similarly, there was another man of 27-year-old found with a life-threatening gunshot.
Furthermore, the investigations indicate that the incident occurred during a party attended by local college students. Hammond Police reported an active investigation surrounding the incident and has been contacted to find the culprit.

According to his social media and news outlets, Javeion Gills was raised by his grandmother and elder siblings in Gary, Indiana.
His elder brother, JaJuan Gills, trained and coached him since he was five. From his high school football achievement to his boxing endeavors, Javeion was trained by his beloved brother.
Now, in the absence of Javeion Gills, JaJuan is emotionally devastated. On his social media, he has been posting about his beloved brother throughout his social media posts. In his Facebook post, JaJuan writes,
The Gills family faced the tragic passing of their mother, Charmaine Gills, in November 2019. As mentioned in Charmaine’s obituary, she was the parents of 11 kids.
Furthermore, the family lost their father figure, John Davis Jr., on October 11, 2011, and one of their siblings in late 2018.
Now, the family once again has to go through the devastating loss of their beloved brother, who was just 19 years old, a young talent, and had yet to join his dream college.
