Known for his detailed approach to offensive line fundamentals, he had a knack for maximizing his players’ potential, instilling a sense of discipline, toughness, and teamwork that transcended the football field.
In addition to his technical coaching skills, Rodgers served as Assistant Head Coach, working closely with the head coach to help lead and guide the program’s overall direction.
Rodgers made 10 Bi-District Championships, 9 Area Championships, 7 Regional Semi-Finals, 5 Regional Finals, and 10 State Final appearances.
Moreover, he was an assistant softball coach at West Oso from 2019 to 2020. He later served as head softball coach at Flour Bluff in 2020.

His passion, commitment, and unwavering belief in his players left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know him. He will forever be a part of Flour Bluff ISD, and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. Once a Hornet, always a Hornet.” “Coach Ron Rodgers became part of our Flour Bluff family in 2014 as our Assistant Head Football Coach and Offensive Line Coach. He poured his heart and soul into our student-athletes, always pushing them to be their best while caring for them like his own. Coach Rodgers was always the first to ask me why i looked so mad some days at school and when i told him i was okay he wouldn’t let me leave until i was laughing. He was a very big part of my high school training career and i will forever remember his pranks he would pull on me. We miss you already Coach Rodgers
