Stephon played high school football at Brentwood Academy and Humboldt High School. He was a two-way player, taking snaps at defensive line, offensive tackle, and even running back.
As a sophomore at Humboldt, he was invited to attend the Supermax 100 Midwest Invitational held at Ford Field in Detroit for the top 100 recruits in the nation.
Humboldt City Schools’ Safety and Project Manager Viktor Horton played a key role in securing the invitation to the workout, where he dominated some of the best in the nation, participating in one-on-one drills.
We did defensive drills. We did cone drills, one-on-one, ran the 40 (yard dash) and L-drills. My favorite was the one-on-ones.

ESPN rated Stephon as a four-star recruit and ranked him as the No. 24 defensive tackle and No. 7 player in the state of Tennessee.
On March 22, 2024, Stephom commits to playing college football for the Georgia Bulldogs but decommits on November 8. Later, he visited the Florida Gators and signed with them on December 4, 2024.

Stephon Shivers continues to make his family and community proud with each step forward. His father cheers for him as he prepares for the next chapter at the University of Florida.
Previously, Stephon received an exciting letter notifying him that he had been identified as one of the nation’s top high school underclassmen by the National Combine.
The prestigious recognition came with an invitation to participate, an opportunity that could further elevate his football career.
I’m thankful to the Lord that Stephon is blessed with these opportunities and skills to go around the United States. He’s very respectful. I’m proud to have him as my son.

Stephen wasted no time in ensuring his son had the best chance to succeed. He reached out to Viktor Horton to help compile a game film to submit to the selection committee.
Viktor, who has worked closely with Stephon, emphasized that an invitation didn’t guarantee acceptance.
Once the film was complete and submitted, the committee reviewed Stephon’s skills and officially accepted him into the program.
Furthermore, another proud moment came when the rising athlete earned a full scholarship to the University of Florida.
Stephen was overwhelmed with gratitude and thanked all the family members, coaches, and mentors who supported Stephon throughout his journey.
Well, it’s official, I have a 17-year-old college student at the University of Florida who’s been blessed with a full scholarship, first of all to GOD be the glory for making all of this possible, to his mother, Treesey Cannon, I thank GOD for you, for if the lord hadn’t blessed you to have him, none of us would be able to experience this.
