FCIAC Championship Star Bob Robustelli Dies at 72, Leaving Behind Wife Patti and Five Children

Former Stamford Catholic High School athlete Robert “Bob” Robustelli passed away, leaving behind his 40-year dedication to youth sports in Stamford. 

Bob Robustelli was born on January 8, 1953, in Greenwich, Connecticut.

He is the second of nine children. His father was Andy Robustelli, the Pro Football Hall of Famer, and his mother was Jeanne Dora.

Bob attended Stamford Catholic High School, where he lettered in three sports: baseball, basketball, and football.

In his senior year, he was named MVP in basketball when his school won the FCIAC (Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference) championship.

After high school, Bob went to the University of Connecticut (UConn), where he played football for four years.

Not just in the field of athletics, Bob worked in the travel and corporate events business.

He is president of Robustelli Worldwide LLC, a company that handles corporate meetings, sporting-event travel, and incentives.

He is also involved in literature: Bob authored a book titled “The Pope of the NFL: The Andy Robustelli Story and the Family That Loved Him”, which is about his father Andy’s life and legacy.

Earlier, he worked for years as a Little League coach (Springdale Little League) and was honored with the Wellington Mara Award for his long volunteer service in youth sports.

Following his year of dedication, Bob became the Athletic Director at Trinity Catholic High School (his old school). He held that role until January 2019, when he resigned to focus on his business.

In 2014, Bob was honored by the Stamford Old Timers Athletic Association for his contributions to local sports.

Stamford Community Mourns the Loss Of Robert “Bob” Robustelli!

Bob Robustelli passed away on November 18, 2025, at Stamford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

His death has not just brought grief to the family and friends, but indeed to the whole Stamford community.

He was a dedicated member of the community who devoted decades of his life to youth sports and other fields, making him remembered and loved by many.

Following his passing, many have expressed their grief via social media posts and shown support to the family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patti, his son, Lucas, and his daughters, Amanda Price, Brett-Lyn Varelis, Kristen Delmonico, and Laura Smith, along with several grandchildren.

He is also survived by numerous family members, including siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends who considered him a mentor and supporter.

In memory of Bob, the family requested that contributions be made to the Stamford Old Timers Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Bob’s family, friends, and all his well-wishers.
