Carson Wentz (Eagles)
6’5, 237 lbs
Wentz is one of the most talented QBs in the NFL, he just needs to stay healthy. He can create plays with his legs, he’s got a cannon for an arm, and he sees the field like a seasoned veteran. Like many players in fantasy, his season will be decided on his health. Last year in only 11 games, he finished with a stat line of 3074 yards passing with 21 TDs to only 7 INTs.
Wentz has a really good supporting cast and he’s surrounded by talent. The Eagles have one of the best offensive lines in the game, and the combination of Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz, and Nelson Agholor are a nice trio to work with. The team also signed deep threat Desean Jackson who led the NFL with 18.9 yards-per-reception.
Reports from the camp have Wentz in the best shape of his life and he knows he has to stay healthy to silence his critics. Nick Foles is gone so the insurance policy is void, and the season is riding on him playing 16. He set career highs in completion percentage (69.6) and yards-per-attempt (7.7) and was on pace for a big season before the injury.
Wentz is young, ultra-talented, and surrounded by talent. He’s already been an MVP candidate and if he plays all 16 games he could be one again, just draft a good backup QB just in case.
