QB Drew Brees 2019 Fantasy Outlook

#7 QB Drew Brees 2019 Fantasy Outlook

Drew Brees (Saints)

6'0, 209 LBS

Drew Brees is a future hall of famer and he's been one of the top fantasy quarterbacks for the last decade, but all good things come to an end. While he's no longer a guaranteed lock for a top-five finish, he still played some really good football and can still provide QB1 numbers. Last year Brees went for 3992 passing yards with 32 TDs and only 5 INTs, and he also ran in 4 TDs despite only 22 rushing yards.

The Saints have one of the best young receivers in football in Michael Thomas, one of the best receiving backs in the league in Alvin Kamara, and the team also signed Jared Cook at tight end who is coming off a career year. Head coach Sean Payton is an offensive guru, and after Brees completed 74.4 percent of his passes, I see his pass attempts going up this season.

He's not going to pass for over 5000 like he used to, but he's only missed one game over the last 9 years and his stability is something you can bank on. He loves going to the tight end and Cook is the best he's had in a while. This is a high octane offense and 30 TDs should be a lock.

Brees doesn't offer the high ceiling like he used to, but his floor is really safe. Running QB's like Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton, and Kyler Murray all carry injury risk because of their ground game, but Drew will be there for all 16. He's safe and doesn't cost you a top 5 QB pick anymore, and the best ability is availability.

Ceiling- 4250 passing yards, 36 TDs,
