Bobby George Stuart, affectionately known as “Hoss,” passed away on February 13th, 2025, at Arbor House Memory Care in Marble Falls, Texas.
His journey came to a peaceful end following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Stuart’s life was marked by remarkable achievements in athletics and education, leaving an indelible impact on countless lives throughout Texas.
Born on December 6, 1942, in Sweetwater, Texas, Stuart spent his formative years in Roby and Honey Grove.
His athletic prowess emerged early at Honey Grove High School, where he earned multiple letters in football, track, and basketball before graduating in 1961.

His passion for sports continued through his college years at Paris Junior College and Howard Payne University, where he completed his undergraduate degree in 1965.
Stuart later enhanced his academic credentials with a Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1974.
Stuart’s coaching career began in 1965 at Brookshire Royal High School as an Assistant Football Coach.
His leadership qualities quickly earned him promotion to Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
His career path led him to Waco Robinson High School in 1975 as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
In 1983, Stuart took on his final and longest-serving position at Alief Hastings High School, where he dedicated 20 years as Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach until his retirement in 2003.

His legacy lives on through his extensive family, including his wife of 33 years, Kay, whom he married on December 21, 1991.
Stuart leaves behind a loving family, including his children Janice Harvey (Mike) and Jill Bartels (James), bonus sons Kevin and Brandon Pierpoint, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, February 22, at 1:00 PM at Lutie Watkins United Methodist Church in Llano, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers include Lynn Etheridge, Leon Combs, LeRoy Crumb, Lynn Parker, Nathan Barrier, and Mike Steelman.
Social media tributes poured in following Stuart’s passing. His son-in-law, Michael T. Harvey, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook:
“The Man, the Myth, The Legend! My Father-in-law Coach, what I always called him, Bobby Stuart has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. This man taught me so many lessons, some that soaked in and I use to this day, and some that I didn’t want to hear but glad I did.”
