According to the Kaitlin post, the accident occurred during football practice, where her son Elijha was accidentally shot.
Following the accident, he was quickly taken to Seiling Hospital for initial care.

Reflecting on the incident, one comment offered sympathy and prayers for Elijah’s full recovery.
Oh my goodness that is so scary. Praying for quick and complete healing. My daughter Samantha, many years ago experienced same thing…her little cousin Seth shot her with a Nerf gun right in the eye as she was getting out of the car at Thanksgiving. Scary for sure. Glad Elijah got such quick medical attention.
In the same Facebook post, another user wrote;
Unfortunate. I hope a lesson was learned. At least now my boys will believe me when I tell them nerf guns can be dangerous and to NEVER point any gun at anyone’s head pretend or not! Praying for his full recovery.
As of now, everyone is praying for Elijah’s steady recovery, and the medical team is doing their best to help him heal.
Elijah’s love for football is strong, but he must wait until he is fully recovered. The support of friends, teammates, and the community is helping him stay positive.
We also pray for Elijah’s fast recovery and offer our sympathy to his family and friends.
