Crowd Taunts Female Pitcher With Vile Slurs in a Jenks Vs. Mustang Match —Fans Call on OSSAA to Take Action

All onto OSSAA now!

A Jenks softball game turned ugly when members of the opposing student section targeted a visiting pitcher with sexual slurs and taunts meant to rattle her during play.

Witnesses say one spectator shouted that the pitcher was “passed around,” and other students repeatedly called her a “whore,” driving her from the mound as the section booed.

The incident was first shared on social media, though the original TikTok post has since been removed.

Parents were quickly alerted after students messaged the pitcher’s family, identifying the boys involved.

Great Support from the Community

Chrystal Speir, whose daughter was the target, said the students had been trolling the pitcher’s social pages and used what they found to amplify the harassment.

She said that several of the boys weren’t even acquainted with the girl — they simply weaponized online rumors to try to gain an edge on the field.

“They admitted to hearing she was a good player and trolling all her socials so they had things to yell at her. I really hope these boys’ parents know how they talk to young girls,” added the parent.

School response has drawn sharp criticism. Spectators and parents say administrators were informed but did not act until the school athletic director intervened.

“Where were the administrators?” asked multiple commenters online, echoing a widespread sense that supervision and accountability failed that night.

Community reaction ranged from calls for criminal accountability to demands for stronger school discipline; several parents urged Mustang and Jenks officials to convene, investigate, and issue consequences.

Josh Clark wrote, “That’s a far cry from officials around here. They won’t even let the adults say ‘bad call’. They boot people out quickly. “Did none of the men on either side stand up and say anything when the sexual derogatory slurs were being yelled?”

Chrystal Speir replied, “Our coaches, AD, and parents all started in. In the video, you see our coaches immediately approach the umpire. Our AD went to their AD. Our parents were saying things, but it didn’t matter. We were actually told to be quiet about it, or we would be kicked out.”

Shannon Calhoun added, “This is absolutely unacceptable sportsmanship and needs to be addressed imo by both Mustang & Jenks officials! All the parents on Okemah’s team should stand behind you in this situation for support, so that this behavior never happens again.”

Local Voices of Oklahoma, in partnership with the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA), is open to initiating a formal review and tightening rules regarding spectator conduct and student discipline.

The fallout is already visible on social media: friends and supporters sent messages of comfort to the pitcher, and nearby schools are watching closely.

For now, the primary concern is the player’s welfare and ensuring other student-athletes aren’t placed in the same position.

Parents, coaches, and school officials must demonstrate that they value safety and dignity above all else, including rivalry.

The OSSAA and local districts have been asked to respond; the community says they’ll be watching what happens next.

As the concerns are severe, the OSSAA must answer the serious questions raised by the officials.
