Rob's wife is known to have graduated with a BA and an MBA from both Le Moyne College and George Washington University.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and his wife, Collen Manfred, have been together for four decades.

As Rob Manfred continues to look for ways to spice up Major League Baseball, he is considering a new out-of-the-box idea.

Highlights

  • Rob Manfred claimed there’s a buzz around the “Golden At-Bat” rule among MLB Owners.
  • Manfred is married to his wife, Colleen, with whom he shares four children.
  • His son, Michael Manfred, works in New York as an associate at JPMorgan Chase, structuring high-yield debt.

Rob told Puck’s John Ourand that the “Golden At-Bat” rule has been discussed throughout the league. He said,

“There are a variety of [rule change ideas] that are being talked about out there. One of them—there was a little buzz around it at an owners’ meeting—was the idea of a ‘Golden At-Bat.'”

He then mentioned multiple possible rule changes discussed for future seasons, including one that would let managers swap a weaker hitter with a stronger one during a crucial moment in the game.

Manfred didn’t elaborate on the rile or the “buzz” surrounding it, but the notion of a one-time slugger swap has been discussed for years.

Aside from a possible “Golden At-Bat,” Rob expressed a desire to implement “subtle” rules to dissuade managers from swapping their starting pitchers so early in the games.

He said that the success of recent rule changes might make owners and fans more receptive to new rules that would make the game more competitive and enjoyable.

Rob Manfred’s Wife, Colleen Manfred, Is The Graduate Of George Washington University

Commissioner of The MLB, Rob Manfred, was married to his wife, Colleen Manfred, 60, born in 1965.

Their love story started while studying at Le Moyne College in the mid-70s in Syracuse.

Although the 10th Commissioner of MLB transferred to Cornell, their bond remained unbreakable. This eventually blossomed into a deep romance.

In 1982, they exchanged their vows in a private ceremony and have been together since.

Colleen has kept herself away from the media spotlight and social media handles, so only limited information about her personal life is available.

However, she is known to have graduated with a BA and an MBA from Le Moyne College and George Washington University.

She is a well-educated professional who has stayed far from her husband’s involvement in MLB.

Additionally, Colleen has volunteered as a college counselor at Cristo Rey New York High School and served on the Board of Trustees at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.

While the couple has been married for decades, they have raised a well-educated and successful family. They share four children: Megan, Michael, Jane, and Mary Clare.

He has been married to his wife, Ashley Justine Allen, the daughter of Linda C. Allen and Dr. Jeffery L. Allen of Midland.

Their second daughter, Jane Elizabeth Manfred, is a senior research analyst at Marketing Evolution, a marketing analysis firm in New York.

She is married to Michael Paul Quagliano, a sales manager of a Swiss food products company.

Rob’s third daughter, Mary Clare Manfred, married Charles Austin Murphy in 2021. They first met at a student acceptance party at his parents’ Armonk, New York home.

Despite meeting before their college classes began, Ms. Manfred and Mr. Murphy, both of Manhattan, did not start dating until October 2016, two months after each had graduated from Colgate.
