Cleveland Browns WR, Jerry Jeudy Embraced Being A Mama’s Boy After His Parents Tercius And Marie’s Split

Jeudy, the Browns wide receiver who was traded from Denver in the offseason, shredded his former team’s defense, racking up 235 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.

Jerry Jeudy’s siblings often teased him, calling him a mama’s boy, but Jeudy didn’t care. “I am a mama’s boy,” he has proudly repeated.

He sees his mom as everything to him, feeling she’s always done so much for him. He believes it’s his turn to give back and do everything for her.

Highlights

  • Jerry Jeudy’s parents, Tercius and Marie Jeudy, parted ways when he was too young.
  • He had always wanted to buy his mom a house, so when he finally had the chance, he made it happen.
  • He also purchased a $50,000 Nissan truck for his father after signing a massive contract with the Denver Broncos in 2020.

In the meantime, though, he has plenty on his plate.

A first-round pick in 2020, Jeudy didn’t fully reach his potential in Denver, but since joining the Browns and with Jameis Winston now starting at quarterback, he’s experienced a career resurgence.

Over the last four games with Cleveland, Jeudy has caught 25 passes for 379 yards for the Browns.

From Haiti To The United States: A Mother, Marie Jeudy’s Journey To Teach Her Kids the Value of Home

Jerry Jeudy’s parents divorced when he was young, and he became very close to his mom, Marie.

Marie Jeudy had moved to the U.S. from Haiti when she was 14, and every summer, she would take her kids back to Haiti to experience life there.

Marie believed they needed to see how people in Haiti, even though they had little, valued family, church, home, and school.

Because of these values, Marie was very protective of Jeudy.

She didn’t want him playing outside, especially not football, fearing he might get hurt.

But Jeudy loved the game so much that he started sneaking out to play when his mom wasn’t around.

The kids in the neighborhood would play football in a narrow space they called “Back Street,” and one of the best players there was Lamar Jackson, who would go on to be the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar taught Jeudy many moves, including how to juke, which he still uses in his games today.

Eventually, Marie discovered that Jeudy had been sneaking around to play football.

At first, she was upset, but when she saw how much he loved it, she eventually let him play.

He had always wanted to buy his mom a house, so when he finally had the chance, he made it happen.

Jeudy called her for her birthday and said,

“It’s your birthday, and I’ve always wanted to do this.
Go find any house you want, and I’ll buy it.”

His mom picked out a beautiful five-bedroom house in a gated community in Orlando, which cost just over $300,000.

In addition, Jeudy also surprised his mom with a brand-new BMW X7, worth around $80,000, to show his appreciation for everything she had done for him.

Jerry Jeudy Also Gifted His Father, Tercius Jeudy, Following His Millions Deal With The Broncos’ Contract

In 2020, Jerry Jeudy signed a four-year rookie contract with the Denver Broncos worth $15.2 million. With his first big paycheck, he decided to do something special for his family.

Additionally, he shares a close-knit bond with his father, Tercius.

His father currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida. He earned his degree from the Faculté de Droit et des Sciences Économiques.

One of the first things he bought was a $50,000 Nissan truck for his dad, Tercius.

Tercius loved being on the go, and even though he wasn’t too particular about cars, he was happy with whatever Jeudy picked.

Additional Information

  • In 2016, during his senior year of high school, Jeudy faced the heartbreaking loss of his seven-year-old sister, Aaliyah.
  • He also wears a Star of David necklace, though he is not Jewish.
  • The necklace was a gift to himself after he was nicknamed “Jew” because of the first syllable of his last name.
