Charissa Thompson’s Video Of Confession And Scandalous Comments Spark Controversy

Charissa Thompson has been on the news couple of times for her several controversy and scandalous comments.

Born on May 4, 1982, Charissa Thompson is an American sportscaster and television host.

Thompson kicked off her sports broadcasting career with the Big Ten Network and Fox Sports Net. She worked as a sideline reporter for college football and basketball games.

Highlights

  • Charissa Thompson said she fabricated her news while working as a sideline reporter.
  • Thompson shares a close bond with fellow Fox reporter Erin Andrews.
  • She was mentally and emotionally down after hackers shared her private photos.

With years of dedication, Thompson has made a name for herself in the broadcasting business. She has gained recognition for her contributions to Fox Sports and Amazon Prime Video.

But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Thompson. Along the way, she faced some notoriety for inappropriate actions.

While most of the backlash Thompson received is a result of her own choices, there have been times she found herself in a dark place as a victim.

Charissa Thompson’s Video Of Confession Went Viral

Charissa Thompson shamelessly admitted to fabricating some of her news for sideline reports.

Speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, she revealed that she had made up news during her time as a sideline reporter.

While revealing that, Thompson explained that when coaches were unavailable for comments, she would make up generic statements she thought wouldn’t upset anyone.

Additionally, the sportscaster shared that she fabricated the statements because she didn’t want to mess up the report and thought it was harmless.

Although Thompson thought it was no big deal, people didn’t take it lightly. Once the news broke, criticism quickly followed.

Reporters Tracy Wolfson, Lisa Salters, and many others condemned her actions, stressing the importance of trust and accountability in journalism.

Specifically, Salters called Thompson’s comments a disservice to players, coaches, and fans.

Likewise, Wolfson stated that fabricating reports is “absolutely not okay” and damages the credibility of all sideline reporters.

Following the backlash, Thompson posted an apology on Instagram, insisting she had never lied or acted unethically throughout her broadcasting career.

Moreover, she expressed her respect for sideline reporters and attempted to clarify her previous remarks.

Besides Thompson’s controversial revelation, she garnered attention for her scandalous comment, adding to her notoriety. It all happened during an Amazon Thursday Night Football segment.

Out of nowhere, Thompson dropped a memorable Meet the Parents line;

“I’ve got n*pples, can you milk me, Greg?”

Charissa Thompson’s Viral Selfie And Photo Infringement

Shortly after the photo was posted to Andrews’ Instagram story, it went viral. Additionally, Andrews captioned the photo,

“The only selfie I’ll take. Back with my gal.”

Thompson and Andrews are known for their playful banter, so it is no surprise that their selfie took over the Internet. However, there is an additional reason for the selfie to go viral.

Those who follow the duo know that Thompson and Andrews are vocal supporters of the rumored romance between Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce

Moreover, during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the duo playfully admitted their involvement in igniting the relationship between the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

The two popular Fox Sports personalities, who co-host the podcast “Calm Down” seem to be enjoying a VIP experience at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in London in the photo, which explains why the photo went viral.

Besides this selfie, Thompson’s photo went viral in 2018; however, not for good reasons. That year, the reporter became the victim of a fake photo leak.

It all happened after hackers accessed her iCloud account and stole her images. Following that, the intruder shared her private photos online.

She was badly shaken from the incident, and this infringement of her privacy took a toll on her, both emotionally and mentally.

In Thompson’s challenging moment, she contacted Andrews. Her fellow Fox Sports colleague also experienced a similar invasion of privacy years prior.

  • Charissa Thompson is estimated to hold a net worth of $3 million as of 2024.
