Linebacker Terrel Bernard’s Parents Have Stayed Away From Media Spotlight
Terrel Bernard, 25, was born on May 7, 1999, in La Porte, Texas, United States, to his mother, Laura Spain Bernard, and his father, whose name has not been revealed.
Linebacker Terrel has never mentioned his father in interviews or on social media. Laura raised him as a single mother.
At an early age, he learned from his mother, Laura Bernard, that a sense of responsibility was important. During one of the interviews, Terrel said,
“I think it comes from my mom,” Bernard said. “She didn’t baby me at all. I was taking care of my own business when I was 7, 8 or 9 years old. I thank her for that. It wasn’t always easy, it wasn’t always fun. But looking back on it now, I see what she was trying to do, and grateful of how she raised me, just the lessons she taught me growing up.”

On November 5, 2024, Laura took to her official Facebook handle and announced the news of her father’s passing with the caption,
Two weeks ago today, on October 22, 2024, my sweet Dad passed away. I can’t imagine this world without him. If you knew my Dad, you knew the impact he had on all those he encountered. The unwavering love and support for both me and my boys is what I will miss the most. I wish I could tell him one more time how grateful I am for all the sacrifices he made, not only for me, but especially for the boys. I know he’s so proud of them both. A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. I will update when I have more info.

During the interview with The Jet Press, reporter Justin Fried asked Terrel how it feels to grow up with five siblings.
“Let’s start from the beginning. So you grew up in LaPorte, Texas, and you had 5 siblings is that right?” “Now, explain to someone who’s an only child what it’s like growing up with 5 siblings because that’s a foreign concept to me.”

Then Terrel Bernard answered,
“Yeah it was cool. I was right in the middle so I had younger and older siblings so I was getting picked on by my older brother and taking care of my little siblings as well. It was cool being in the middle and being able to see both sides of that.”
