Chisholm, a Massachusetts native and lifelong Celtics fan, has maintained a low public profile despite his significant achievements in private equity.

His firm, Symphony Technology Group, specializes in investments in software and technology companies.
The current Celtics ownership group, led by Wyc Grousbeck, acquired the team in 2002 for $360 million. Grousbeck will continue as the team’s governor until the 2027-28 season to ensure a smooth transition.
After the deal, on March 21, 2025, Bill Chisholm shared his statement regarding the Boston Celtics and stated he wanted to raise banners.

Bill Chisholm And Kimberly Ford Have Three Children, Two Of Whom Work In Artistic Fields
On June 29, 1996, Chisholm married author Kimberly Ford Chisholm.
Bill Chisholm’s wife, Kimberly, is a former visiting professor at UC Berkeley. She has a Ph.D from the University of California, Berkeley, in Spanish and French Literature.
Moreover, Kimberly is an author who has written for The Threepenny Review and Literary Mama, among other publications.
Furthermore, Bill Chisholm’s wife has also run a YouTube channel, The Foxed Page, since April 3, 2023, which boasts 49.2K subscribers.
