Bartlesville High School football player Landry Deaton, who is a rising prospect for college, seems to have leukemia, according to friends who shared a fundraising campaign.
Landry Deaton is a highly rated long-snapper prospect in the high school class of 2028.
According to his Rubio Long Snapping profile, he has earned a 4.5-star rating and is ranked among the top long-snappers nationally for his class.
During his time at Rubio’s “TOP 12” camp (Lewiston, Idaho, July 2025), Deaton impressed with elite athleticism.
In his evaluation, Rubio noted that his snap speeds were already at a college-level standard.
Though he is still in high school, his long-snapping performance has already drawn serious attention from college-level recruiters.
According to the 2028 national long snapper ratings from Kohl’s, he has received offers from multiple universities, including Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, the University of Louisiana Monroe, and the University of Cincinnati.
Teammates Raise Fundraising Campaign for Landry Deaton’s Leukemia Treatment!
Lamdry Deaton Leukemia was recently confirmed by his family via a Facebook post, which they shared with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The diagnosis came after Landry experienced fatigue, initially thought to be related to mono, prompting a visit to the hospital.
Further testing confirmed that he has leukemia, and he has since started chemotherapy treatment.
Landry is currently receiving care at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
As per the Landry family, doctors and nurses have developed a treatment plan they believe gives him the best chance to fight the disease.
His first round of chemotherapy is expected to last four to five weeks, after which doctors will assess his progress.
Landry’s teammates at Bartlesville High have organized a fundraising campaign to support his treatment, and friends, classmates, and teachers have shown immense support.
Following the post from Landry’s father, many have expressed their support, saying that Landry is in good hands at St. Jude and that it is the best hospital.
One user in the comment section offered support and sympathy, writing:
We are praying big! He is right where he needs to be. St Jude’s is an amazing place with an amazing team of the best humans on the planet! We have put him on our prayer list at church and the prayers will not stop. If there is anything back here you guys need done, just remember there is an army waiting to help where we can! As Landry goes through his daily check-ups and hospital routine, his parents, Tyler and Kendra, are supporting him from the waiting room.
Not just his parents, but the whole community and Landry’s teammates seem to be praying for his fast recovery.
