Authorities said a 17-year-old student, Solomon Henderson, opened fire in the cafeteria with a pistol, shooting two others before taking his own life.

The shooting began in the cafeteria at 11:09 a.m., with police arriving just two minutes later, at 11:11 a.m.
Authorities said the shooter, Soloman Henderson, took the bus to school, entered a restroom, and may have gone there to retrieve his weapon before confronting Josselin Escalante in the cafeteria.
The father of Josselin Corea Escalante, German Escalante, preferred not to appear on camera and didn’t speak English, but he communicated with the news team through a translator.
He said he couldn’t find the right words to describe. The tragedy of what happened to his daughter left him speechless.

Josselin Corea Escalante was originally from Barrio el Cemetery in Los Amates, Izabal, Guatemala.
She was born to German Corea and Joselyn Escalante, who are residents of Nashville. She was affectionately known as Dayana Corea.
Her family described her as a fun-loving, kind young woman who loved soccer and was a good student.
She was an older sister with a bright future ahead of her. Tragically, her life was cut short.
Her cousin, Dulce, shared that Josselin was “a great cousin and a great person.”
Dulce expressed how much she will miss everything about her, describing her as more like a “little sister.”
Moreover, she has updated her profile picture to her cousin, Josselin, to honor her.
Further, Elizabeth Shelby Jackson expressed that her prayers are with Josselin’s family and the Antioch High School community.
She remembered Josselin as a sweet and beautiful soul and shared that she enjoyed being her 7th-grade science teacher during the 2021-2022 school year.
Soloman Henderson Had Quite Doubtful Actions Before Shooting Incident
On the contrary, Henderson posted disturbing writings online, including a layout of Antioch High School, pictures of a handgun, and tools related to the gun (a lock-picking kit and cartridges to load the handgun).
He had plans to livestream the attack in the cafeteria. These posts were linked to an account believed to be his.
Henderson expressed shame about himself in his writings and shared offensive racist and anti-Semitic views.
He also posted a flyer from the Goyim Defense League, which is a neo-Nazi white supremacy group.
The intelligence group revealed that Henderson claimed online that Samantha Rupnow, the shooter from the Abundance Life Christian School attack in December, followed him on his X accounts.
The group also mentioned that documents, allegedly written by Henderson, show his admiration for several mass shooters, including Brenton Tarrant, the Christchurch shooter and the suspect in the 2022 Slovakian gay bar attack.
Additionally, Henderson reportedly posted photos of himself wearing clothes linked to neo-Nazi groups.
As the investigation into the school shooting continues, authorities stated that it’s still unclear where Henderson obtained the weapon.

- As news of the shooting spread, worried parents rushed to the school, causing traffic near the exit off Interstate 24 and along Murfreesboro Pike as they tried to get past police blockades.
