Although very little information about her parents is available, it is known that they separated when Toni Storm was just four years old.
Toni Storm was born Toni Rossall in Auckland on 19 October 1995 and moved to Australia’s Gold Coast with her mother, Wedny Rossall, after her parents’ divorce.
Similarly, raised by a single mother and seeing her struggles, Toni always appreciates her mother and often talks about her sacrifice in interviews.
Her mother, Wendy sold hot dogs at wrestling shows to secure her daughter’s in-ring education and help her pursue her wrestling dreams.
As Toni and her family couldn’t afford the fees, her mother would go to each wrestling match and help sell hotdogs and drinks, and for that, they agreed to train Toni for free.
In an interview with SunSport, Toni said that when she was ten, she was a huge fan of the Hardy Boys, Mickie James, and Trish, and always dreamt of being like them.
She continued by saying there was a moment with her mother when she told Toni she would be like those bloody wrestlers. Her mother has always been her constant source of support.
Moreover, her mother’s sacrifice and support didn’t go in vain; Toni quickly built her career.
Toni Storm Began Her Wrestling Career At The Age Of 13!
Toni began training at a small, Gold Coast-based wrestling company and debuted at the age of 13.
Moreover, after five years of experience with the company, Toni decided to move to England and live with her Liverpool-based grandmother to improve her wrestling skills at 18.
Toni further started working internationally in countries such as Finland, France, Germany, and Spain and took part in a WWE tryout camp in Melbourne during WWE’s 2014 Australian tour.
She also attended another tryout camp in Manchester during WWE’s 2015 UK tour.
Likewise, Toni Storm didn’t take long to begin her WWE journey; on 16 June 2017, WWE announced Storm as one of the first four participants of the Mae Young Classic.
On 24 May 2018, Storm signed a WWE contract. On 18 June at the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, she defeated Killer Kelly and Isla Dawn in a triple threat match to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.
She debuted on SmackDown in the 23 July episode as a face, defeating Zelina Vega.
Moreover, Toni Storm made her AEW debut on the 30 March 2022 episode of Dynamite, participating in the qualifier match for the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament and defeating The Bunny.
