Aurora Keats, a 14-year-old member of an aerial gymnastics club, sadly died in an ATV accident on March 10, 2025, while riding near Joe Batts Pond at the Newfoundlands T’Ralway.

Aurora Keats, named after the Northern Lights, brought light and color to everyone around her. She was described as kind, sweet, intelligent, confident, and loving.
Her smile, bubbly personality, encouragement, and kindness lifted every spirit she encountered.
Keats’s love of softball, volleyball, and gymnastics drove her to numerous tournaments and competitions, where she supported her teammates and performed exceptionally well in sports.
Moreover, she volunteered at the Airials Gymnastics Club in Gander, where she was a born leader and seized every opportunity to help and inspire the younger gymnasts.

Cobb’s Pond Rotary Park, a place at the heart of our town, is cherished by so many, making it a fitting place to honour Aurora’s memory. In tribute to her life and the love she brought to those around her, the park will be illuminated in white and pink, the colors her family has chosen to represent her. These lights will shine in remembrance over the next few weeks.
Aurora Keats’s Family Mourns The Tragic Loss
Aurora Keats, the daughter of Heather and Wes, was born on May 27, 2010, in St. John and was raised alongside her brother, Pearson.
Her untimely death due to an ATV accident left her parents and community devastated.
There will always be a dark spot where her light once shone, whether in her friends and family or the gymnastics and sports worlds.
Everyone who loved her will always miss her sweet yet vibrant soul; a void will always exist in their hearts, lives, and worlds. She was truly loved.
Aurora was a beloved friend who was always there for whoever needed her. Her close circle of friends and cousins who loved her immeasurably spread over the nation.
Everyone who encountered her was immediately captivated by her inner brightness, and they advised her not to change. In honor of her, the St. FX Cheerleading girls wore pink.
Our work family at Adventure Sales and Service are devastated with the passing of Aurora Keats, daughter of Heather. Aurora was a beautiful young woman, with a bright life ahead of her. This loss is unimaginable. We are offering our most sincere condolences and support throughout this heartbreaking time.

Aurora leaves to grieve her parents and brother. Her grandparents, Sandra, Wade, and Vonne; Aunt Stephanie; and cousins Bailee, Dustin, and Tayler survive him..
Similarly, she shared a great bond with her other countless cousins, great grandparents, great uncles and aunts, friends, and chosen family.
Her parents were her biggest supporters and the center of her world. They shared an unbreakable bond, and their love knew no bounds. Though her time with them was far too short, the memories they created together will forever be cherished.
The Keats will receive friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Her celebration of life service will be at Evangel Pentecostal Community Church, Gander, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Moreover, Evangel Pentecostal Community Church will live stream her celebration of life for those who cannot attend in person.

Though her light has been extinguished far too soon, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Aurora.
