Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is currently dating Hanna Cavinder, a Miami Hurricane basketball player. The couple made their relationship public in August 2024.
The quarterback has been struggling on the field recently. Some fans are blaming his basketball player girlfriend, calling it the “Cavinder Curse.”
Highlights
- Hanna and Carson Beck were rumored to be dating in July 2024.
- The quarterback confirmed his relationship via social media and their relationship has been making headlines recently.
- Hanna Cavinder’s twin sister, Haley Cavinder, is dating Jake Ferguson, who plays tight end for the Dallas Cowboys.
In 2023, Hanna Cavinder’s boyfriend led his team to a 13-1 record, throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and 24 touchdowns, with only six interceptions.
Experts had even thought the Jacksonville native might be the first quarterback picked in the 2025 NFL draft.
This season, with Georgia sitting at 8-2, the quarterback’s performance has been different.
As reported by AthlonSports, in 10 games, Carson has thrown for 2,835 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
His 12 interceptions rank him near the top nationally. So, he is no longer seen as a first-round draft pick.
However, Beck showed promise by throwing for 347 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in Georgia’s crucial 31-17 win over Tennessee recently.

The controversy surrounding their relationship started when Hanna posted two photos with her boyfriend on 12 October after Georgia’s win over Mississippi State.
Following those photos, Beck’s performance declined noticeably. For instance, on 19 October, against Texas, he had zero touchdowns and three interceptions.
Then, on 2 November against Florida, he managed two touchdowns but also threw three interceptions.
Lastly, on 9 November, against Ole Miss, Carson had zero touchdowns and one interception.
In total, Beck threw only five touchdowns and nine interceptions after Hanna’s “QB is a QT” post. The Bulldogs also lost to the Rebels in Oxford.
As a result, many blamed Hanna for the quarterback’s struggles. Even her sister, Haley, joked about it, calling Hanna “the biggest curse in college football.”
Hanna, in turn, blamed Haley for starting the “Cavinder Curse” with her boyfriend, Jake Ferguson, a Dallas Cowboys tight end.
As the game ended, the Cavinder twins used a viral TikTok trend to declare the end of the “Cavinder Curse.”
They wrote, “Listen up the Cavinder curse isn’t real & needs to stop.” Then, they flipped the camera to their faces and said, “Oh shoot.”
