The pair were initially scheduled to fight in July 2024, though the about was postponed when Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up.

Mike Tyson was born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City, to his biological father, Purcell Tyson, and his mother, Lorna Mar (Smith) Tyson.

Purcell Tyson was a humble cab driver. However, the man Tyson had known as his father was a pimp named Jimmy Kirkpatrick.

Jimmy was from Grier Town, North Carolina, where he was one of the neighborhood’s top baseball players. In 1959, Jimmy left his family and moved to Brooklyn, where he met Tyson’s mother.
