Later, he was diagnosed with a degenerative hip condition in July. Lincecum underwent hip surgery in September 2015.
After recovering from surgery, Tim became a free agent, leaving the San Francisco Giants. In May 2016, he signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels.
