After all, Tyra Whitehead had an impressive basketball career. In the 2020-21 season, she averaged a career-high 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, recording three double-doubles in just four games.

She was the first player in the Mountain West to achieve three double-doubles in the first three games of the season and earned College Sports Madness Mountain West Player of the Week honors.

Her standout performance included a season-high 18 points against Utah State, and she was recognized on the Her Hoop Stats Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year preseason watch list.

In 2019, she started all 31 games, averaged 13.9 points and 10.1 rebounds, and had a notable 20-rebound game.

Whitehead ranked first in the Mountain West for defensive rebounds and earned All-Mountain West Honorable Mention with 13 double-doubles.

At Wake Forest, she made seven starts and scored a career-high 23 points in her sophomore season.

She graduated from Cosby High School in Virginia, earning multiple All-State honors and being part of three consecutive state championship teams.
