Heather Pirie-Hill shared that her father, Coach Ross Pirie, passed away peacefully on 9 February at 1 pm at Sakura House in Woodstock.
Affectionately known as Coach Ross, he spent 40 years as a sports coach, teaching football and basketball and English and Physical Education.

Fortunately, a room at Sakura House became available at just the right time, and her dad was resting there.
Heather expressed deep gratitude for the wonderful caregivers and the peaceful environment at Sakura House.
Ross Pirie was a wonderful father and will be deeply missed by his children, Laurie and Jim, as well as his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He passed away after church on February 9 and just hours before the Super Bowl, a game he never missed.
He will be joining his wife, Grace, the love of his life, who passed away two years ago.
His positive attitude, passion for life and learning, and strong presence will continue in his family.
They feel blessed to have had him, and more details about his celebration will be shared soon.
