Adam, an American sports writer and reporter, worked as a freelance reporter for the Chicago Tribune while attending Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
He began his newspaper career as an editor at The Michigan Daily and interned for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer before moving to Denver in 1990.
Afterward, he wrote The Denver Post in July 1996 and was promoted to President of the Pro Football Writers of America from 2001 to 2002.

After marriage, Adam became the stepfather of Devon, who was born in 2000. Similarly, the married couple also has a daughter, Dylan.
