Samuel Fels Basketball Star, Noah Scurry’s Rivals Drop A Diss Track After He Was Shot In Front Of Mother In Philadelphia

Family members gathered at a home in Feltonville to mourn the loss of Noah Scurry.

17-year-old Noah Scurry, known for being a top student and basketball player, was shot and killed behind his North Philadelphia home on 14 January morning.

The tragic incident occurred as Noah Scurry, who was about to head to Samuel Fels High School with his mom, got into the car just before 7:15 a.m. on January 14, 2025, in the Feltonville area near Roosevelt Boulevard.

Highlights

  • Investigators think at least two people got out of the vehicle to shoot Noah Scurry, and a third may have been driving.
  • A rap video posted the day before Noah Scurry’s death may be connected to the incident.
  • After Noah Scurry’s death, his rival, Big9Milli, posted a diss track on his Instagram story targeting Joker OTV.

Witnesses reported hearing numerous gunshots followed by the sound of his mother’s screams.

One neighbor said,

“I heard the shots and then the mother crying. I can still hear her voice, screaming as she saw her son lying there.

The school district canceled all men’s basketball games for the week following the incident.

Scurry, a standout student and athlete, had recently achieved the highest SAT score in his school’s history, making him a well-respected figure both in the classroom and on the court.

Spokesperson Monique Braxton described Scurry as exceptional, while the school’s principal and basketball coach expressed their deep sorrow.

In a letter to families, the principal confirmed that Scurry had no known issues with fellow students or signs of conflict within the community.

Noah Scurry Posted A Diss Track Video Under A YouTube Moniker Joker OTV Before His Demise

The day after the incident, SkyFOX flew over the Philadelphia Police impound lot, capturing footage of a white Jeep Cherokee.

Investigators think at least two people got out of the vehicle, and a third may have been driving.

Well, Noah Scurry had been a victim in another shooting back in May 2023 on Mulberry Street, where a man in his 60s was killed.

Nonetheless, Philadelphia Police haven’t shared why they think Scurry was targeted or given any details on the motive.

They also haven’t released descriptions of any suspects or commented on Scurry’s past or social media activity.

At the same time, Law enforcement sources told FOX 29’s Kelly Rule that a rap video posted the day before Noah Scurry’s death may be connected to the incident.

In the video, Scurry, wearing a “joker” mask, appears to hold guns.

Other people in the video are also seen dancing and displaying guns. Sources believe this video might be related to the circumstances surrounding his shooting.

Similarly, people suggest that Noah Scurry led two separate lives: one as a basketball star and the other as Joker OTV. In his diss track, he appeared to embrace the street mentality.

Was “Joker OTV” an alter ego or he was really in the streets?

This timing was seen as highly disrespectful, especially given the recent tragedy.

Further, another opponent, Cbaby9, took to Instagram Stories to express his condolences for Noah Scurry’s mother, saying he felt sorry for her to have lost her son to multiple gunshots.

He also mentioned that the beef between them had started earlier, implying that tensions had existed long before the tragic incident.

Hence, folks say they don’t understand how these young ones make this music, thinking nothing will happen to them.

They point out that these kids are still in school, with things like gym class, and aren’t as hidden or safe as they think.

I really just don’t understand how these kids make this kinda music thinking they’ll never get touched. Like bro, you’re still in school. You got PE at 12. You ain’t low at all.
