Speaking to the publication, the soon-to-be parents expressed their excitement about the new chapter of their lives and highlighted how amazing it is to explore the journey together.
Sharing more about what the prospect of becoming parents means to her, Demi-Leigh said,
“I’m so grateful because I just couldn’t imagine a better life partner to do life with first and foremost.”

Demi-Leigh, 29, was born on June 28, 1995, in Sedgefield, South Africa, to her father, Bennie Peters, and her mother, Anne-Marie Steenkamp.
Her parents officially separated when Demi was 18 months old. The reason for their divorce has not yet been revealed.
Demi’s mother, Anne-Marie, is an interior designer and landscaper. She is now married to Johan Steenkamp, who works in the building industry.

Both my dad and my stepfather are extremely hard working. They have truly earned anything that has ever come their way. The one thing that I learnt from them is that you will get nothing by sitting back and waiting for a miracle to happen. Demi-Leigh’s Half-Sister Was Born With Cerebellar Agenesis
Demi-Leigh’s half-sister, Franje, was born in 2006 to her father, Bennie, and her mother, Elzabe Peters.
Franje was born with an infrequent condition called cerebellar agenesis, where the brain formed without a cerebellum. Sadly, she passed away on May 4, 2019 at 13.
According to the National Institutes of Health, the condition is characterized by an underdeveloped cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls movement.
Demi shared the sad news on Instagram and wrote,
“My little Princess, Angel on Earth, biggest joy and baby sister, Franje, passed away earlier today. Our hearts are aching beyond measure but I am grateful knowing she’s forever relieved of the pain she experienced on earth,” the South African model wrote. “She’s laughing, running and playing in heaven just like we always hoped she would on earth . She’s free ! Thank you for all your prayers, love and support.”

Despite her condition, Franje maintained a joyful spirit and an infectious smile. Demi frequently shared photos of her sister online and continues to honor her memory.
In a post marking what would have been Franje’s 18th birthday, Demi wrote,
