Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly Stafford, mentioned on her podcast last week that she and her daughters had the flu.

For a moment Monday night, the Vikings thought they had tied their wild-card game against the Rams when they sacked Matthew Stafford and scored a touchdown.
But replay determined that Stafford threw the ball legally at the last second as he was dragged to the ground.
Stafford somehow avoided an international grounding penalty on the play.
The play occurred with the Rams holding a 10-3 lead early in the second quarter.
A first-and-10 blitz pressured the Vikings, and Stafford dropped the ball as Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard took him to the turf.
Linebacker Blake Cashman picked it up and sprinted untouched to the end zone for what was ruled on the field as a touchdown.
Stafford immediately protested that the loose ball resulted from an incomplete pass, not a fumble.
Officials took a second look at the replay and agreed. They overturned the call on the field and ruled it an incomplete pass.
“After review, the quarterback did, in fact, throw that ball forward,” Hussey said. “No. 17 was in the area. Therfore it is an incomplete pass.”

Matthew Stafford and Kelly Stafford married in 2015. According to Paper City, their wedding was a cell phone-free zone, and all attendees were given hats they could customize.

The game was initially scheduled for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood but was relocated to commemorate the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
In addition to traveling to Arizona herself, Kelly arranged several charter buses to transport Rams season ticket holders to the match.
Hours before the group took off to Arizona, Kelly shared that her twin daughters were in the emergency room with an undisclosed illness.
On January 11, 2025, Kelly took her Instagram story and posted a photo of her two daughters in a hospital bed. She wrote,
“Last night was long,” “Back in beds and sleeping, everyone except Hunter. Feels like she drank a Celsius.”

In the Instagram post, Kelly did not elaborate on why her kids’ had been hospitalized.
Later, Matthew’s wife mentioned that she and two of her daughters suffered from flue during an episode of her podcast, “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford and Hank.” She said,
“I can’t think straight,” “I currently believe I have the flu. Two of my daughters have the flu. I wasn’t able to move yesterday at the game.”

She posted an update that her daughter was doing better, posting a pic of the family at a Waffle House in Arizona.
Kelly and her daughters cheered on Matthew during Monday night’s game despite not feeling healthy. After the match, Kelly said,
“I passed out on a little bench in the suite,” “We had, like, all of our friends in town and I was a real downer. Body aches are serious.”
