One player who has broken out in a significant way is linebacker Nakobe Dean. With Haason Reddick traded before the season, some wondered how the team could replace him as a linebacker.
Dean has stepped up and tallied career highs across the board. He started the Wild Card Round matchup in a big way and logged six total tackles quickly.
Unfortunatley, though, he will miss the remainder of the contest due to a knee injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport said,
“Eagles LB Nakobe Dean, who was carted to the locker room, has already been ruled out with a knee injury,”

Dean was carted to the locker room after making a tackle on Packers tight end Tucker Kraft.
His injury didn’t look good when he fell, so he was ruled out quickly. However, there is no point in speculating until further imaging is done.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Linebacker Nakobe Dean’s Parents Are US Military Veterans
Nakobe Dean, 24, was born on December 13, 2000, in Horn Lake, Mississippi, United States, to his father, Byron Dean, and his mother, Neketta Dean.
Both of his parents are army veterans. Unfortunately, they divorced when Nakobe was only one year old, and Neketta never married again.
After the divorce, Neketta raised Nakobe as a single mother and insisted on a love for football and the importance of hard work.
She has strictly set disciplinary boundaries for Nakobe since the early days, blending with her maternal love.
Nothing much is known about his father, Byron. However, Neketta served eight years in the US Army, three of those as an active member and five as a reserve.
She fought in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield during the Gulf War (1990-1991).
As Neketta served as the Director of Community Affairs in Tunica County, Mississippi, Nakobe used to accompany her.
In November 2023, Nakobe and Neketta Dean visited Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to meet with military families.
They partnered with Operation Homefront and United Through Reading to host the event.
While Nakobe met with families and military personnel, Neketta handed out books and stickers to the children of service members.
Nakobe Dean’s Mother, Neketta, Raised Three Kids As A Single Parent
Nakobe grew up with his elder brother, Nikolas Dean, and one younger sister, Brooklyn Dean.
Nikolas Dean, 26, was born on March 12, 1998.
He was part of the national championship staff at the University of Georgia and joined the College of Wooster football staff in February 2024.
At Georgia, Dean was a recruiting and player personnel analyst on the Bulldogs’ 2022 national championship staff.
Nikolas also attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and was a tight end in the program.
He has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s in management with an emphasis on athletic administration.
