Casey Chaos was born in Trenton, New York, on October 9, 1965. When he was a child of seven years old, his father and mother separated.
After that, the musician moved to Melbourne, Florida, with his mother. His single mother raised him.

Casey planned to pursue a career as a professional skater. However, his plan changed in 1982 when fellow skateboarder Duane Peters played him a tape by the band Black Flag.
