At the same time, Rivers has been seen in public with a younger woman, indicating he may be moving forward in his personal life.

The Interracial Couple Faced Racism During Their Early Years At Marquette

Rivers met Kristen Campion during their college years at Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1979.

When they first started dating in 1980, their interracial relationship was met with hostility.

Kristen’s car tires were slashed, and racist statements were written on the sidewalk in front of her parents’ home in Wisconsin.

Due to these experiences, Doc is a vocal advocate against racism, police brutality, and the rising right-wing white-nationalism rhetoric in the US.

The racism they faced also affected Doc’s performance on the basketball court.

His coach at Marquette, Hank Raymond, reportedly had to have a private conversation with him to offer support and encouragement.

Despite these obstacles, the couple married in 1986 and had four children: Jeremiah, Callie, Austin, and Spencer.

However, the racism didn’t stop. There was even a suspicious fire at their San Antonio home, which was believed to be racially motivated.

Each Of The Rivers Children Pursued Athletics

Jeremiah, 37, played collegiate basketball at Georgetown, professionally in the NBA Development League, and overseas in Serbia.

Callie, 35, played volleyball at the University of Florida and professionally for the Leonas de Ponce in Puerto Rico.

She married NBA player Seth Curry on September 14, 2019, and they have three children: Carter Lynn, born in 2018; Cash, born in 2021; and Cruz, born in 2023.

Austin, 32, the most famous among the Rivers siblings, had a successful NBA career playing for the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets.

Spencer, 29, currently works as a Skills Development Coach for the Philadelphia 76ers after playing collegiate basketball at UC Irvine.

Doc Was Pictured With A Younger Mystery Woman

Reports indicate that Rivers and Kristen separated around 2014, initiated divorce proceedings in 2017, and finalized their divorce in 2019.

Rivers was seen with a younger mystery woman during this period, suggesting a new romantic relationship.
