A cherished resident of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, tragically passed away in a car accident near Torrington, Wyoming, on December 14, 2024.

The news was officially announced by NSMA 2022 Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year winner and 2023 WYo Association of Broadcasting Hall of Famer Kent Smith through his Twitter handle.

According to the news, he was coming back from the Gillette Tournament, and his car collided with another vehicle, which led to Tim’s death on the spot. Kent wrote,

Sad news as we say goodbye to KGOS Torrington Trailblazer pbp Tim Hurst. Killed in a two car accident coming back from the Gillette Tourney. He loved Torrington sports and devoted U of Kansas fan.#RIP Tim
