A former NFL player, Larry Johnson, has ignited controversy with claims he made about a late-night rap party hosted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé in Colorado.
During the Fearless with Jason Whitlock podcast appearance on December 10, Larry Johnson recounted attending the party with several artists, including some well-known rappers.
Highlights
- Larry Johnson explained that Jay-Z had secured a house for a rap party related to a photo shoot, with plans for an event exclusive to adults.
- A former NFL player saw the children attending the party out of nowhere.
- Larry revealed that Jay-Z had emailed him to tell him their friendship was over due to Larry’s legal troubles.
According to Johnson, around 11 p.m., a group of children appeared at the event without warning, which he found unsettling.
Larry Johnson made his statement following a lawsuit filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who accused Jay-Z of sexual misconduct with a minor in 2000.
The lawsuit, which was first filed in October 2024, accuses Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of inappropriate behavior with a 13-year-old girl at an afterparty following an MTV event in 2000.
The woman claims that Jay-Z was the first to act inappropriately, followed by Combs.
She says she hit Combs and left the party. Jay-Z has vehemently denied the accusations, calling them serious and urging the woman to file a criminal complaint instead of a civil one.
Larry Johnson Recalls Unsettling Incident At Jay-Z’s Rap Party, Surprised By Unexpected Presence Of Children
Johnson believes the incident occurred during the winter of 2006 or 2007.
He also mentioned that Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, and Jaime King were all present at the time.
According to Johnson, Jay-Z had rented a house for a rap party tied to a photo shoot, and plans were being made for what was supposed to be an adult-only event.
Larry Johnson said that a group of young children unexpectedly attended the party.
He didn’t understand where they came from, especially since it was a rap party with loud music, drinking, and wild dancing.
The former NFL player was confused about how the kids ended up there.
He also mentioned sitting next to one of the children while dancing with an assistant and that the child sat next to Beyoncé.
Additionally, Johnson shared that a young Latin girl was at the party with her mother but had to leave early because of school. He found it odd that she was even at the event.
Larry Johnson ended by saying that, at the time, he wasn’t as aware of what was happening as he is now.
He also admitted to being intoxicated, which led him to leave the party while the children stayed behind.

Losing access to the Roc Nation brunch, in particular, seems to have significantly impacted him.
After all, Jay-Z and Larry Johnson shared a strong bond for years, starting as close friends and later becoming business partners.

However, Johnson’s off-field antics started to overshadow his performance. He had multiple run-ins with the law and a series of violent outbursts, including assault charges and bizarre public behavior.
His mental health worsened, and he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and possible CTE, a brain disease linked to repeated head injuries common in football players.
By 2017, Larry was estranged from Jay-Z. In an interview, Larry revealed that Jay-Z had emailed him to tell him their friendship was over due to Larry’s legal troubles.
At that time, Larry started to express some bizarre views, including accusing Jay-Z and Beyoncé of being involved in Satanism.
He now works with a nonprofit mentoring disadvantaged children.
