The injury put him aside for 10 weeks during the 2019-2020 season. While talking with Commercial Appeal in 2019, his parents said, they had to make him understand to be patient.

During the recovery period, Taylor said he had daily conversations with his mom, dad, and Brandy White, who also recovered from a foot injury in the past.
Taylor also revealed that he often repeated a favorite Bible verse during his recovery from a foot injury: Jeremiah 29:11.
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
After recovering from his foot injury, Patrick Taylor returned to the field and performed exceptionally well. In his first game back, he gained 14 yards against Houston.
On 23 November 2019, Taylor ran for 95 yards on 17 carries against South Florida and scored three touchdowns, nearly matching his career high.
This standout performance earned him the nickname “Hat Trick Patrick” from his teammate Kedarian Jones.
Both Patrick Sr. and Katie were there to witness his return.

Patrick Taylor’s Sister Nadia Is A Former Professional Softball Player And Current Coach
Among his two sisters, Nadia followed in their mother’s footsteps and became a National Pro Fastpitch League veteran.
Nadia played collegiate softball for the University of Texas from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing basketball with the Longhorns in her fifth year of eligibility.
She said,
“Having to recondition myself to be a collegiate basketball player for a Power Five school was the hardest thing I think I’ve ever had to do.”
Taylor’s sister Nadia made her debut in the NPF in 2014 and played each season until 2020, when the league was canceled due to COVID-19. After the 2020 season, Nadia retired from the National Pro Fastpitch League.
Following her retirement, the NFL player’s sister transitioned into coaching and has been sharing her expertise with young athletes.
She has trained softball and baseball players at NT88 Sports Performance since she opened the indoor training facility in November 2019.
According to Athletes Unlimited, many of her students are top prospects who face a lot of pressure, so Taylor often checks in with them to ensure they’re doing well mentally.
In an interview with the same publication, the National Pro Fastpitch league veteran, who arrives at the facility at 6 AM, said she doesn’t take it easy on her young students.
She usually tries to instill a similar work ethic in the players she works with. Recalling her father’s influential words, she said,
“My dad would always say, ‘Excuses build bridges to nowhere,’ so we never make excuses. We just make adjustments.”
